About: the designer I love puzzles, coding, and RPGs. I really love RPGs. I might possibly marry whoever has the biggest collection. Five years to just zone out on games... I'll do anything... Okay, well, maybe not. But I have no time to play these days. Grrr. My bro and I decided to try gamefly, but I'm already in the middle of five different games that we own. It's pitiful.
I'm also a writer who's addicted to online comics. (I'm making my bro an addie, too...)
Props ...to Kelechi A. for all her help summer 2002, reminding me to go to lunch, and trying (no, it didn't quite work) to keep me from falling headfirst into the computer and never coming out. Sorry, Kel. I've fallen into VirtualWorld and not even Morris Chestnut could pull me back out. Well...

Updates
26 February 2007
This is the official notice that this project is on hiatus (as if my 1.5 year-long silence weren't enough announcement).
I've been working on my novel, since that requires only me. I do plan to get back to the game, but not any time soon. I'm also the executive editor and a reviewer for The Review Zoo. Checkout my myspace page for updates on my reviews there, as well as any other news about upcoming projects.
About: the start
What is Forksaken Planet? The official website for the Flash RPG I'm developing.
The interactive game trailer below is just part of the intro. I'm keeping mum on exactly what
the game's about, except to say that the website name is the theme but not the game title.
This lil bit of trailer won't tell tell you much more, but hopefully you'll be interested.
When I finish the game, it'll be playable online.
Anyway, this is what do you do when you find out you can get paid to code whatever you want
for six weeks during the summer. What do you do? You code a computer game to show you can
actually do this stuff, and then spend the rest of your time on RPG graphics.
If you don't already have it, you'll need Flash 5
if you wanna check it out.
At any rate, here's the trailer. It's a little over a weeks'
worth of work. ( Why am I telling you this? >.< )

Behind the Scenes As of this moment, I only have part of the intro to the RPG (drawing by mouse is long and hard when you've got no art training and very, very latent talent). Some scenes/graphics still need tweaking (revamping!). I was smitten with Flash and would get inspired in the middle of the night; I should have taken my meds instead of trying to draw. Funky dreams. I've said the website name isn't the title of the game. Well, when I finish the intro, I'll put the title up. The computer game I developed before starting the RPG runs just fine from any computer it's on, but it won't run properly in a web browser. Something about access denial and security and such. I'm in the process of figuring it out. Maybe I'll simplify it (read: let java draw in skimpy 2D graphics until I figure out 3D) so anyone who's interested can play online. (An online version was my original intention.) If you have a java compiler, here's the source code and the graphics files. I'm actually still working on this game; it could use some sound and aesthetic tweaking, but for the most part, it works. ^.^ Please keep in mind that I'm a novice programmer, that it was originally in C, and I had to shift it to Java in a little over 2 weeks while learning the language. Whee. (the C code's just a text version, but if you want that, you'll have to contact me personally. |

20 September 2005 Bwah hah haha ha! Oh my, the naivete... Well, I lost my artist's gene somewhere over the summer and I didn't get a lick of trailer done. That's right, not one lick. I've come to the conclusion that I need help. I've complained about trying to do everything on my own before; I decided to listen to my own bitching and came to a conclusion: I need a partner. Preferrably partner(s). I got the script hands-down (this is my baby, afterall) and I can do the coding, no problem. But I need someone to draw! Preferrably plural someones. People. So, I'm officially shopping around for the artistically inclined. If you're interested, or you want to know more before you decide to become interested, e-mail me with "FPHD partner" in the subject line. My e-mail addy's over off to the side somewhere over there. In other news: Yes, I did revamp the characters. Headshots (that's all that's presentable at the moment) will be available in the next week or so. (I'd put them up today, but I'm not home.)
19 April 2005 Well, it's been awhile. I hope to have the real, bonafide trailer up mid-summer and some character illustrations and bios up before then. I'm starting to wish I had a whole team working with me, since my original idea has grown a lot. A LOT. The script's almost done; I'm just ironing out details. After that... there's a huge amount of artwork to do. ...At least I've improved. ^.^ 11 February 2005 I know this is unprofessional, but... My mom's birthday was yesterday (Yay, MOM!) and this is the page I made for her. Music and Flash -- what more could you want? Happy Birthday, Mom!
24 August 2004 Classes are coming! Someone hide me! I moved over the summer and dropped things for awhile, but I'm back, and the script for the RPG is coming along pretty well. The sheer amount of artwork I will have to produce for this to turn out half-decent is finally dawning on me. I knew it'd be a lot of work, but there's nothing like getting served a big bowl of steaming epiphany. And still, I forge on. ^.^ My brother and I had a discussion the other day... Name an RPG that isn't ultimately about saving the world. Y'know, save the planet, save the universe, save the world from enslavement, stop the abyss, etc, etc. Think about it.
